Jockey Park: The Circle of Jockey Statues
Arranged in a circular fashion is several lawn jockeys that were painted by champion silks; this spot is often overlooked. It is well maintained- indeed a sight to behold that makes it a beautiful place to walk around in between races. If you’re facing the back of Monmouth’s grandstand, you’ll find this circle immediately to the right of the paddock.
Bluegrass Mini Golf
This mini-golf facility houses two 18-hole courses. It was named after the region in Kentucky which is the home to the horse capital of the world-Lexington. The blue and green courses here have holes that are named after the champion Thoroughbred, which makes them popular spots of this track.
The Picnic Area
Along with the stretch of Monmouth Park, you can find the designated picnic area. You must visit this spot if you are coming with kids. The track allows you to use charcoal grills, so this is the place where you congregate for grilled-out food, and it has got around 100 umbrellas set up for shade.
The Garden Room
It’s a very tranquil room located on the third floor of the clubhouse and is a great place to go on hot days because it is air-conditioned. It is open for all track goers and has got enough space to accommodate over 150 people. So, to escape the humidity, visit the Garden Room.
The Lady’s Secret Café
This umbrella-shaded outdoor cafe is situated on the terrace, and it is fitted with a bar. This cafe gives an elevated view of the paddock. Therefore, it is a nice place to enjoy a drink in the shade while watching the horses prepare for their upcoming race.
Beer Garden
This one is a true gem of Monmouth Park. It is opened from Thursday to Sunday, and it showcases around 20 types of draft beer and live music. This Garden remains open until the restaurant closes. All these things make it a hot spot after the races.
