Monmouth Park Racetrack is an American thoroughbred horse racing track in Oceanport, New Jersey, United States. This track is owned by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, and it’s been operated as a partnership with Darby Development, LLC under a five-year lease.

The Haskell Invitational is the 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds at Monmouth Park Racetrack. It is the biggest race in New Jersey, and if you are taking a trip to Monmouth Park and looking for Monmouth Park picks for the Sunday’s War at the Shore. Here are the things that you should know before you go!

The Field have Superstars

While Triple Crown hero Justify will skip the Haskell invitation, there are plenty of equine superstars heading to the Shore on Sunday. Good Magic, Bravado, Lone Sailor, and Flame away are all Haskell hopefuls.

You can take the Train to the Track

Though there is plenty of parking space at Monmouth Park, you can definitely take advantage of New Jersey Transit on Haskell day, or on any weekend or a holiday on which the track is open and you can take the train directly to the track.

You Can Bet on Horse Racing and Beyond

There is no need to say that you can play the ponies at the Haskell, but you can also try out the sports betting while you are at Monmouth Park. The track has its own high-end sportsbook where you can play an ongoing game.

It has Outstanding Food and Craft Beer

You can rely on eating at the Monmouth Park because the track offers some of the best food in the game; there are plenty of options around the track that can tempt your taste buds. There you can even find a high-end beer garden/Italian fare restaurant near the track’s own putt-putt golf course which is delicious and lots of fun.

The Backyard is a Great for Spending the Afternoon

If you are looking for a relaxing day at the races, you can consider hanging out at Monmouth’s beautiful backyard. The seating is also free. Also, you can bring your own food and drinks. There are wagering windows, restrooms, and even people who help you to bet all in that area and you can get a front-row seat to see the horses battling down the homestretch toward the finish line.

Hence, Monmouth Park wants fans to have fun – they also have a BYOB area! However, there are some reasonable restrictions in place; so make sure you read the rules carefully before heading there.
